Our commitment

BabyPhone.online is built for tired parents — often operating it one-handed, in the dark, at 3 a.m. Accessibility is core to that: the app should work with a screen reader, with a keyboard, with reduced vision, and with shaky hands.

Conformance target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. Measures currently in place include:

• Accessible names (aria-label) on all icon-only controls (microphone, camera, fullscreen, settings, and monitor buttons).
• Visible keyboard focus indicators on all interactive elements.
• Large touch targets and high-contrast text on the dark interface.
• Status information (connection, battery, sound level) conveyed as text, not color alone.
• Support for browser zoom up to 200% without loss of function.

Known limitations

• The live audio level meter is a visual indicator; sound events are also logged as text in the event log, but real-time non-visual alerting is limited to the (audible) cry alert.
• The QR scanner requires a camera; the room code can always be typed instead.
• Some of the 30 interface languages have partially translated interface strings; untranslated strings appear in English.
